Wingbits at a glance
Wingbits was founded in 2023 in Stockholm by Alex Lungu and Robin Wingårdh.
Wingbits is a Swedish global flight-tracking network that collects real-time aircraft data through community-operated receivers. Unlike traditional flight-tracking networks, Wingbits uses an incentive-based model to fairly reward its contributors.
Thanks to innovative purpose-built hardware, Wingbits can deliver fully encrypted real-time and historical data with provable integrity.

Download pngRobin began his career as a professional golfer and was ranked among the top 20 in the world as an amateur. Afterwards, he worked for an investment company in Memphis, where he built businesses in various segments, mainly within service and finance. He then founded two startups of his own; one which he successfully exited in 2021.
After this, he moved back to Sweden from the US and served for two years as the CEO of Aqua Nobel of Sweden before joining Klarna in March 2022, where he led commercial teams handling portfolios of large Klarna merchants until meeting Alex and starting Wingbits at the end of 2023.
Robin Wingårdh Co-Founder and CEO of Wingbits
Throughout his career, Alex has held different senior and leadership roles in software engineering at Scania and Klarna, where he worked on large-scale data systems. Outside of work, he's always been drawn to the startup world and has participated in various IoT and data crowdsourcing projects. This experience helped him identify opportunities in flight tracking, which inspired him to leave his role as an engineering manager at Klarna and found Wingbits.

Wingbits is a global flight-tracking network founded in Sweden in 2023, with a vision to make our skies more efficient, safe and transparent for all. Their worldwide and fast growing community of over 5000 data contributors receive rewards for monitoring 200,000 daily flights in real-time. With network-wide encryption and purpose-built hardware that is cryptographically-secured and provably accurate, Wingbits aims to produce the most far-reaching, high-quality and reliable data in the industry. Backed by leading investors in technology and aviation, Wingbits has commercial partnerships with companies such as Spire Global, Korean Air R&D Center, DronePort and Meerir.

3D Map View
By selecting 3D mode, you will be able to view an aircraft’s real-time altitude and position visually.
TCAS Alerts
Go to wingbits.com/tcas to browse all recorded near-miss incidents. Find an event by date or location, click VIEW — the map will show the flight paths of both aircraft at the moment the alert was triggered. Switch to 3D mode for a clearer visual and take a screenshot to use in your story.
Filter by type
Filter the aircraft by type using our Preferences modal.
Flight search
Search by tail number, airport, or date. You can also press on any aircraft on the live map and it will show you relevant information and data.
GPS Spoofing
This map aggregates NACp reports from aircraft across the Wingbits network, updated hourly.
Color preferences
You can choose your own colour scheme to represent the altitude or category of an aircraft.
Toggle weather
This shows live weather conditions.
Show user stations
This shows all the active stations (antennas) in our network, hosted by contributors around the world.
