Hey Wingbits Crew,

We’re fresh into the new year, but before diving headfirst into the future, we wanted to share our recap from the past few months.

Due to technical difficulties, we couldn’t share our November log, so this update will be a bit longer to include December.

We’ve experienced a couple of energizing months where we had lots of things fall into place.

New team members joined, momentum is building, and we hit some major milestones, putting into perspective how much we’ve achieved as a community and team.

Here are some highlights 👇

1 Year Public BETA Celebration

We celebrated the 1 year anniversary of our public beta launch on November 2nd. Here are some highlights from our network during that time:

📡 More than 2100 stations are now actively running worldwide and sharing flight data in real-time

🌎 There are over 80 countries represented in the network, including exclusive regions and locations unavailable in any other network

✈️ 120,000 unique flights are being tracked per day, totaling tens of millions in the past year

📍 10 new stations joining the network per day

🗺️ 60 million Km of geographic area covered (and growing)

⏱️ 2-sec latency for 95% of data

A huge THANK YOU from our team for your support, contributions, and feedback these past 12 months. Here’s to the next 12 months being even better.

GeoSigner Shipping On Schedule

GeoSigner production is in full swing, with the first completed units rolling off the production lines. These finished and tested units were moved to our logistics center in Shenzhen and are ready for worldwide distribution.

For our BYOD station owners, please ensure you've provided your shipping information if you haven't already done so – you can find detailed instructions in our BYOD FAQ

Remember to use your Wingbits login email when submitting details, and note that shipping information must be submitted for each station you operate.

Shipping will proceed on a first-in-first-out basis, with tracking numbers provided via our shop system. We'll continuously send new batches to our logistics partner until all units are distributed.

Watch for additional setup information coming shortly. Our team has put tremendous care into developing these units, and we're eager to get them into your hands.

Here’s a sneak peek of a preproduction sample and the enclosure design.

Why We Built Our Own Custom ADS-B Hardware

Speaking of hardware, sometimes we’re asked why we decided to introduce custom Wingbits stations as the standard device for our network, instead of continuing with the Build-Your-Own-Device approach we used when Wingbits first launched.

We wrote a blog (which you can find a link to at the bottom of this page) detailing our decision to partner with leading manufacturers to produce custom hardware—and why this approach ultimately benefits the network and our community in the long run.

Community Love and Giveaways

To celebrate the holidays and express our appreciation for the Wingbits community, we launched two festive giveaways on X (Twitter). Our Thanksgive-Away had participants pin their dream destinations on the Wingbits map, with the winner choosing between a HYFIX miner or holiday flight reimbursement up to $495.

Where would you travel if you could?

Christmas saw Santa flying across the globe in the Santa Tracker Giveaway, transforming the Wingbits map into an interactive tracking adventure. Santa hid in a unique red hexagon that moved across the map with each refresh - his reindeer quickly covered a lot of ground. The grand prize winner earned $100 in store credit, while four runners-up each received $50 to spend on Wingbits merchandise.
