Historical datasets are delivered in standard formats with a consistent schema. These are the core fields:

icao24

ICAO 24-bit transponder address — the stable aircraft identifier.

callsign

Flight callsign as broadcast by the aircraft.

latitude / longitude

Position reports captured by the ground network.

altitude

Barometric altitude at each position report.

timestamp

UTC time of each position report.

first_seen / last_seen

When the network first and last observed the flight.

departure / arrival airport

Origin and destination ICAO codes derived from observed takeoff and landing.

flight_duration

Observed duration of the completed flight.

aircraft type / registration

Aircraft metadata joined from registry sources.

squawk

Transponder squawk codes, including 7500/7600/7700 emergency events.

Can I download historical ADS-B data?

Yes. A free 24-hour sample is available on the data sample page, and full historical ADS-B datasets are delivered as a data product — scoped to the aircraft, regions, and time ranges you need.

How far back does the historical flight data go?

Coverage depends on the region and the dataset. Recent months are available at full position-level detail, and completed-flight records extend further back. Tell us the window you need and we will confirm coverage for your area before you commit.

What fields are included in historical ADS-B data?

Position-level records include the ICAO 24-bit address, callsign, latitude, longitude, altitude, and timestamps. Flight-level records add first/last-seen times, departure and arrival airports, and flight duration, joined with aircraft metadata such as type and registration. How is Wingbits historical data different from public flight trackers?

The data comes from Wingbits’ own network of 6,000+ verified ground stations across 120+ countries. Every signal is authenticated at the receiving station and cross-checked for spoofing, so historical records are traceable to their source rather than scraped or aggregated.
